Maybe you can’t attend my Spring workshop, or perhaps you simply love the colour autumn brings? Either way, Georgia is an exciting destination for photography as it offers beautiful landscapes and stunning soviet architecture with food that caters to all tastes and pallets. This trip is also a great opportunity for you to improve your photography (I will be on hand to answer any questions along the way), explore your creativity and at the same time discover this amazing country at a stunning time of the year.

I only work with experienced & knowledgeable drivers to provide transport to each of our photography locations and this is included and provided alongside all overnight accommodation. I take care of all the bookings, so you can relax and take in our stunning surroundings as well as focus on your photography.

The tour also comes complete with a trip into Tbilisi to photograph many relics from a by-gone era, before we complete the 2 days there in no better way, but to eat & drink - as I team up with a local host to provide a “wine & food” extravaganza in the nation’s capital.

This tour is similar to my Spring edition, however this is designed to visit locations that benefit from the colours of Autumn.

The city of Tbilisi has always stood out with its unique streets, buildings and mix of unique architecture, due to the blend of different cultures. The exterior of the city has changed over time due to the country being in a constant state of transition. We explore what the capital has to offer from both a photographic and a hospitality standpoint.

Gergeti Trinity Church

It's definitely one of Georgia's most iconic images (seen above right). The Georgian's seem to have a knack for building churches in spectacular locations, and at 2200 metres above sea level and backed by one of the highest peaks in the Caucasus Mountains, this is probably the most spectacular of them all.

My Photography adventure tours are aimed at any level of photographer who is looking to improve their photography and meet like minded people. Either beginners looking to understand the basics and improve, through to advanced photographers looking to find some great locations or rekindle their enthusiasm and inspiration.  The key aim of our time together is to have fun and enjoy being outdoors whilst leaving inspired to take photos that will enter your own photography portfolio.

I have organised and run photography tours for a number of years both personally and with friends but after leaving a job as an events organiser in early 2018 after 7 long years, it seems like the perfect fit that I should now be running photography tours and experiences for others.

During our week long adventure, I will talk you through what I use as the key elements to producing great image:

  • Composition

  • Light

  • Subject

  • Timing

  • Post Processing techniques

As we wander through the streets of Tbilisi, or the abandoned town of Tskaltubo - I will also chat to you about the technical aspects of photography. Helping you understand your camera and settings whilst keeping it simple. I also help each day with the technical aspects, of course depending on your requirements.

The typical areas that we discuss will be the exposure triangle of f-stop, ISO and shutter speed, but also I can help with:

  • Composition and how to find unique angles

  • Understanding light and how it can impact on the mood of the image

  • The key technical elements, demystifying the often overwhelming array of camera settings (focus, exposure, histogram, lenses, tripod, and of course filters)

  • Dedicated time to slow down and think more carefully about taking fewer but better quality images

  • How to visualise an image

Apart from an amazing time we will have hunting out some great images whilst taking in a tour route that I have designed from the ground up. We seek out a mix of interiors and architecture as well as iconic Georgian locations. But here are a few of the other key features and benefits that the workshop will provide:

  • Transport provided throughout Georgia over the 7 days (inc. collection from Airport)

  • 7 nights accommodation inclusive - in apartments or hotels that I have personally vetted

  • 7 days workshop guidance with myself James Kerwin

  • We discover images that are assisted by Autumn

  • Help with lightroom / post processing on some evenings

  • A moderate pace that works for everyone

  • Prize for image of the week

  • A photography clinic during the week

  • 1 on 1 sessions

  • Tbilisi “Food & Wine tour” included on our last night in Tbilisi
