The Story Behind The Images | Tskaltubo, Georgia

Ten years ago Georgia appeared onto my travel radar for the first time. However, back whilst I was backpacking I never did get round to visiting the place back then.

Roll onto 2016, and Georgia reappeared onto my radar whilst seeking new photography destinations and architecture locations to take images of. I visited firstly in March 2018 and have just this last week returned from my most recent trip to this stunningly beautiful country.

The De Facto State – The blog post

A disputed territory on the black sea sandwiched between Georgia and Russia and over-looked by the Greater Caucacus mountains with a population of only around 340,000, Abhkazia is a former war-torn land that although might not appeal to some – for me it sounded like a paradise, away from the usual tourist hustle and bustle and promising not only stunning raw landscapes but also thousands of decaying and abandoned buildings.
